patronale feastThe Immaculate Conception of Our Lady (8/8)

Founded in the Anglican Communion in 1896, by Benjamin Fearnley Carlyle, later Abbot Aelred Carlyle, the community became Catholic in 1913 and moved from its home on Caldey Island to Prinknash Park in 1928. It re-founded Farnborough Abbey, once Solesmes Congregation, in 1947, and Pluscarden Abbey in 1948; Kristo Buase in Ghana was founded jointly by Ramsgate, Pluscarden and Prinknash in 1989 but is canonically dependent on Prinknash
